Gary began his career in Winnipeg at Dominion Bridge as a draftsman. He soon moved to the Calgary sales office, then worked for various companies until moving to Langley.
Gary started ProFab Steel Ltd. in Surrey, BC in 1988 with Jurgen Meier. They began fabricating steel equipment for the sawmill sector. Gary ran the office – estimating, detailing, purchasing, project management and coordination. As the business grew, ProFab moved into Langley where they expanded into structural and miscellaneous steel. In 1998 Profab Steel (1998) Ltd. was incorporated and soon Jurgen retired and Jay El Sayed joined Profab as Gary’s partner.
Gary is now our head estimator.

Jay began his career in Damascus where he graduated as a Civil Engineer in 1983. Over the next 25 years he worked his way up from engineering to running various international construction projects in Dubai, Asia, and Canada.
In 2004 Jay brought his vast experience to Profab, when he took over from Jurgen as Gary’s new partner.
Jay is now the general manager and oversees the daily workings of the fabrication and installation processes.
